Text markers

The textual markers are words or groups of words that serve to make texts more coherent and more pleasant for the reader. These are used to join different parts of the text in order to make sentences and paragraphs make more sense. In this article we will provide you information of text marker.

These markers can be included at the beginning, end, or throughout the text. Thanks to them, the lexical value of the text is increased and the writing of isolated sentences within the text is avoided. If it weren’t for the textual markers, the texts would only be single phrases placed on each other. Hence the importance of these markers in order to write texts correctly.

Usefulness of textual markers

A textual marker provides lexical level in the writing of a text. Generally, a comma is used after a text marker, followed by the explanatory sentence.

For example:  In this way , the Industrial Revolution has had consequences at various levels and aspects of European societies up to the present time.

Other times a comma (,) is not placed, but simply the information to be transmitted is placed.

For example:  The purpose of this work is to clarify the notion regarding environmental pollution.
