What is Environmental Education definition/concept
Issues related to the environment affecting the planet by air pollution, climate change or lack of resources natural. The double dimension of environmental education
The environmental education program has two aspects. It is important that the contents communicated are accompanied by illustrative examples related to everyday life and the closest environment. For example: how to recycle garbage, how a person can take care of their environment or indicate which practices are contrary to a healthy environment.
Children must be the main protagonists of environmental education programs. It must be taken into account that children will be the adults of tomorrow, on the other hand, they can actively help in the environmental education of their parents.
Environmental education should be based more on specific examples than on theories
Therefore, it is convenient for students to participate in specific projects in educational centers: collecting batteries, carrying out recycling campaigns or working in small urban gardens.
Environmental educators can carry out their activity by promoting it in various places, such as in neighboring neighborhoods, in extra-school workshops, camps or through social networks.
Environmental education should not focus only on a specific discipline or subject, but on a transversal theme. It should be taken into account that the content of environmental education is related to very different aspects, such as urbanism, ethics, health, nature and economy.
Finally, environmental education implies an individual and a collective message. In other words, we remember that each person can do something for the environment and, at the same time, show that we live in society and that our collective behavior will have consequences for the environment.
