Dynasty Warriors

Dynasty Warriors (真・三國無双Shin Sangokumusō , Shin Sangokumusou in Japan) is a series of hack and slash video games created by Omega Force and Koei. The hit series is a spin-off of Koei’s turn-based strategy game series Romance of the Three Kingdoms , loosely based on the classicChinese novel of the same name . The series also has several expansions in most chapters, as well as numerous crossovers with other Tecmo Koei franchises .

Game system 

The game‘s story is adapted from the classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms , though certain liberties are taken at times. The gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series is based on the Beat’em up genre, but in quite large scenarios with 3D graphics and numerous enemies. The player selects one of the available warriors and enters the battlefield to eliminate a large number of opponents. At all times it has a minimap in which the main objectives to be met are marked. Although the player can eliminate any enemy that crosses his path, to complete the mission he must take down the main enemy general, who is usually located at a point far from his position, and to reach him he must first eliminate several sub-bosses in their way, although this is not always the case and, given the large dimensions of the settings, it is possible to discover some hidden paths to reach the main objective by surprise.

As the player eliminates enemies, they accumulate experience points that serve to increase the characteristics of the warrior they are using. At all times, the number of enemies killed appears on the screen, as well as the number of combos carried out (movements carried out consecutively and without interruption). The character has two important indicators: health and “musou”. The first indicates the amount of remaining life that the character has, if he is hit it will decrease. If it reaches zero, the character dies and the game is over. The second indicator, “musou”, shows the energy available to perform powerful and devastating moves. It refills as the player hits enemies, but also if they take any damage.
