Juan Nepomuceno Troncoso

A versatile man, Nepomuceno was born in Veracruz, Mexico in 1779, practicing as a politician, lawyer, journalist or priest. He lived through the period of Mexican independence, which he reflected in some works that were destroyed.

He was also a notable writer of fables, highlighting above all two works:  Fables (1819) and Political Fable: The Animals in Cortes (1820).

José Joaquín Fernández de Lizardi

Mexican writer and journalist who lived during the period of independence from Mexico . He was known as The Mexican Thinker , a nickname he obtained after founding a newspaper with the same name.
