Phenotype is understood to be all the particular and genetically inherited characteristics of any organism that becomes unique and exclusive in its class. The phenotype refers mainly to physical and morphological elements, such as hair color, skin type, eye color, etc., but in addition to the traits that make up physical development it also includes those associated with behavior and certain attitudes .

However, the phenotype cannot ignore the influence that the environment has on its delimitation, that is, the environment to which the organism is exposed is crucial in the expression of the phenotype.
The genetic information that an organism bears is part of a certain species, however, it is not an essential condition to know exactly this information to be able to identify a living being, and this is possible precisely because of the phenotype that is the visible manifestation of this quality, however, the genetic code can be expressed in more than one phenotype, that is, in more than one series of characteristics.
The explanation for this circumstance can be found in the environment in which the living organism is exposed
It is not by chance that two people who belong to the same gender, the human, may have a different skin color because of the food they eat, their exposure to the sun, among other issues.
This versatility proposed by the phenotype in terms of the action of the environment is formally known as phenotypic plasticity, which would be the presented ability of a genotype to express itself in different phenotypes, that is, with different physical appearances in relation to the exposure it displays in the environments.
Evidently, adaptation to the environment will imply an increase in the possibility of survival of the phenotype in question
The differentiation that exists between the different genetic codes of organisms of the same type is related to the notion of evolution and adaptation , since the disturbances or alterations that some phenotypes can suffer in relation to the environment can be the necessary changes for that organism can adapt to the conditions that surround it instead of ceasing to exist.
It is important to highlight that the distinction with the genotype of an organism is that the second is composed only of genetically acquired traits, while the phenotype is one that added to these traits also contains the possible changes and variations that this genetic set observes from the interactions with the environment.
