What is Tarot definition/concept/elaboration
A guessing technique used in a card game (usually 78 cards), from which past or present events are analyzed, including those events that are supposed to happen in the future. In other words, the tarot is a set of knowledge that intends to solve the problems of people who consult this type of service.
The mechanics of the tarot and the meaning of the suits
People who believe in the authenticity of this knowledge expose to the tarot card some problem or inconvenience they have (this problem can be a love affair, at work or in the family ), so the tarot reader consults the cards to give an answer to the question asked.
The usual tarot mechanics are usually as follows:
1) approach to a problem;
2) the tarot card shuffles the cards and draws a certain number;
3) the drawn cards are dealt in a specific order and each one of them has a symbol or drawing ;
4) the tarot card interprets the selected cards and gives an answer to the problem that was initially presented.
In relation to the symbolic meaning of the suits, some of them represent the spiritual leaders of the company , other powers of nature and other ideals such as death, marriage and unhappiness. The 78 tarot cards are divided into two groups : 22 cards are the major arcana and the remaining 56 are the minor arcane representing the traditional four clubs.
The origin of the word tarot and tarot as fortune telling
There is no definitive agreement on the origin of the word tarot, for some it comes from the Hebrew term tora, while for some scholars it comes from an Egyptian goddess called Taor.
Regarding the historical origin of this divination technique, all evidence suggests that this knowledge arose between the 14th and 15th centuries, and the first tarot considered was the Visconti Sforza Tarot, created by a family of Italian nobility, of which they kept a hidden series of tarot cards, as at that time card games were prohibited by the church. Most cards today are inspired by the one from the past: the Visconti Sforza Tarot.
followers and critics
The followers claim that this knowledge is a useful tool for self-knowledge as well as for facing the challenges of everyday life. Experts of this technique of divination say that the cards do not totally determine the future, but express the hidden desires of the one who consults.
On the other hand, critics believe that tarot cards are scammers who play with the sensibilities of others and take advantage of their internal fears and anxieties.
