What is Polyamory definition/concept

Men and women marry or get together and create a more or less stable sentimental relationship . There is, of course, the homosexual version of the couple . Another form of love relationship is polygamy and polyandry, but both are exceptional. Polyamory

Polyamory is a combination of these two types of relationship: monogamy and polygamy. Thus, a polyamorous couple is one in which two people maintain a sentimental bond, but do not renounce other overt sexual contacts between the protagonists. In this way, the figure of infidelity and deceit disappears.

Unrestrained love conflicts with traditional values. In recent years, this version of a love relationship has spread because there is now greater sexual freedom .

This term is a neologism and was coined in the United States during the 1990s by Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart, a priestess of the neo-pagan movement “The Church of All Worlds”.

An alternative to conventional monogamy

Among the mammalian animals, only 10% are monogamous. On the other hand, in the case of humans, women have a limited ability to bear children, while men can have an almost unlimited number of offspring. Despite all this, human beings have created a model of relationship based on monogamy. This model has a general characteristic : the members of the couple maintain a commitment to fidelity and, therefore, cannot maintain other bonds or relationships. Polyamory

From this variant, the general rule is broken, since the polyamorous couple accepts the possibility that their partner or partner has sporadic sexual contacts with other people. It is an agreement between both parties and, as we express, it has nothing to do with infidelity or deceit.

In these relationships, the couple’s sentimental commitment is not based on exclusivity. Therefore, the person can enjoy the advantages typical of a couple and, at the same time, there is the sexual freedom of being single. Polyamory

Although there is agreed and tolerated sexual freedom, at some point there may be jealousy, misunderstanding or disapproval.

It is very likely that those who maintain this kind of love bond have to put up with social misunderstanding in some sense. On the other hand, if the couple has children, the sentimental union can become even more complicated.

Like any other emotional bond, open love relationships are legitimate and respectable, as long as there is no coercion or imposition of any kind.

From a psychological point of view, it is not easy to maintain an open and plural relationship, as you need to have certain emotional skills.

Polyamory does not depend on sexual orientation, but on the ability to love several people in turn. Polyamory
