What is Perseverance definition/concept

Perseverance is the virtue that tends to maintain a set of attitudes and actions despite the difficulties and with the objective of obtaining some benefit. Within companies, a committed individual is of great importance, as every human project is fraught with uncertainties. Perseverance is a characteristic of many famous characters in history who, thanks to it, reached a certain degree of celebrity. Over time, the need to teach its value to children became evident . In fact, today’s culture is largely based on the search for immediate gratification, and perseverance is characterized by facing the needs and difficulties to achieve greater gratification over time.

The human experience is characterized by the constant search for benefit, both for oneself and for others. This type of circumstance is largely affected by negative experiences that keep us away from initial projects. Perseverance is the being’s willingness to overcome difficulties, face them with patience and remain firm in their decision.

There have been important moral teachings on this topic in human history. To name one, we can highlight St. Ignatius of Loyola, who in his spiritual exercises distinguishes human experience into periods of encouragement (called consolations) and periods of discouragement (called desolations). The actual decisions of the periods of mood must be taken in moments of peace to ensure a better disposition of the mind; and the moments of discouragement to exercise perseverance and keep the path marked out. Thus, one can understand the importance of perseverance from a religious and moral point of view .

It is important to cultivate this ability, regardless of what beliefs we hold, as it leads to a multitude of long-term benefits. In fact, any decision we make regarding our lives will only be possible with continuous effort and discipline . Perseverance
