What is Hazardous Waste definition/concept

A large number of products become useless waste for consumption and some of them are associated with certain risks. Thus, electronic devices, cells, batteries, engine oils and agrochemical substances are the main hazardous waste.

Its danger can be of various natures: due to its negative effects on the environment or else due to its harmful effects on health.

The danger of electronic devices

Cell phones, televisions and computers have large amounts of hazardous waste due to the cells and batteries they contain, but also because their circuits and components contain a wide range of chemical substances, many of which are toxic. Hazardous Waste

Hospitals generate a wide variety of hazardous waste, as they are related to the extraction of blood, cultivation laboratories, cottons and gases, syringes, expired medicines, in short, substances and materials that become contagious waste with a high associated danger. It should be noted that these residues can spread diseases such as hepatitis B, AIDS and typhoid fever.

In agricultural and livestock activities

Farmers often use herbicides, insecticides and fungicides; all agrochemicals related to foreseeable health and environmental problems . On the other hand, in the livestock activity antibiotics and vaccines are used, which are equally harmful and dangerous substances.

The only way for different types of waste not to contaminate water, air and land is to handle them correctly.

Citizens must become aware of and eliminate everyday waste in the containers intended for each product. On the other hand, companies must apply safety protocols so that the waste generated is not a threat .
