The reasoning deductive, also known as deductive method comprises analyzing elements which allow reaching a positive or negative result. To put it better, a deduction is basically a type of argument in which the conclusion reached refers to the previous premises discussed.
Within logic as a discipline , there are several types of methods that make the construction of knowledge scientific: deductive, abductive and inductive reasoning . Among them, they differ mainly by the type of relationship they establish between the premises. Thus, in the case of deductive reasoning , it starts from a premise in general and its conclusion comprises a more particular aspect. For example:
1) All rice packets have a weight of 500 grams.
2) This is a packet of rice.
3) The weight of this package is 500 grams.
It is noteworthy that for this type of reasoning to be considered valid, there must be a coherent relationship between the first premise and the final conclusion of the logical sequence. Deductive Reasoning
This, which may seem to be just a question used in the field of science, to demonstrate a hypothesis or certain assumptions before an investigation, is something that in practice, in fact, has been used for a long time, having its origins in the society of Ancient Greece. For example, the renowned philosopher Aristotle was one of those who used this type of reasoning .
On the other hand, deduction, in addition to the scientific area, is achieved in a daily way in our lives. Deducing is part of our way of interpreting and understanding situations in the reality that surrounds us. For example, let’s look at a simple, everyday situation: 1) When a person doesn’t say hello to another, it’s because he doesn’t like or doesn’t like him. 2) When your mother-in-law meets you on the street and doesn’t greet you. 3) It follows that your mother-in-law doesn’t like you. Deductive Reasoning
Like this last example, we can certainly deduce other situations that are daily associated with particular situations of behavior, attitudes and actions that are generally agreed in society .
