What is a Village?
We can define that village is a short-lived town and generally lacks its own jurisdiction. They are towns with few inhabitants, settlements of people that develop in rural areas and often far from other towns and cities. Formerly, they were very humble houses that were around a church or castle. Near these houses you could find fields where the villagers used to cultivate. Today, the villages are associated with a very small town, with little population or infrastructure growth.
One of the most outstanding characteristics of the villages is that the majority of the population produces their own food. So, in general, their main livelihood is agriculture, cattle, swine and poultry. Thus, they have small buildings according to the economic activity they develop, such as farms, paddocks, warehouses, mills, wells, stables, among others. We can say that the city is a complex urban infrastructure population where a group of people live who are mainly engaged in industrial and commercial activities. Also, important political and social institutions can be found. Among the main characteristics of the cities is the predominance of collective and vertical housing (buildings), the developed transport and communication infrastructure and the scarce land allocated to green spaces.
On the other hand, the trend to carry out major beautification and modernization works and to plan the construction of new sectors in existing cities and newly created urban centers is manifesting itself more and more all over the world. Many engineers and architects specialize in this subject called “urbanization.” In addition, a city is considered to be populated from hundreds to tens of millions of inhabitants. Finally, it has a great infrastructure, as it must meet the needs of the high population density that inhabits it.
